    note to self: don't forget

my maternal grandpa just passed away this afternoon. got the news while watching Transformers. haha. was quite weird. oh well.. i'm not quite sure how to feel about this. it's good cuz he got to the end of his suffering. bad cuz.. i dunno.. deaths are generally sad and bad stuff right..

the wake's a short one. even shorter than my paternal grandpa i think. but it's all the same to me la. i don't think it really matters whether you got the best coffin, the best mourners, the best location or even the most people coming for your wake when you're already dead. what matters is when you're still alive; spending time and being with your family.. people you care about and people who care about you. and i'm glad we all got to see him before he passed on (though i wasn't there when he died). so i mean we all have no regrets. i was just concerned about whether he went quietly (cuz he suffered so much..) and i'm glad he did (:

yea suddenly thought of what Patrick (the NUS Blast instructor) said during one of our AYG pracs.. he said sth to the effect that there's no point being nice to the person since he's gone already.. which i mean is so true. respect and all aside, it really is meaningless to the person who's gone ahead. it's merely for you to feel better about yourself.. a show put up for others.

i'll always remember him to be the santa claus lookalike who helped me with my crazy TSD costume (: i can't say i love him.. but i like him enough for his death to matter to me. i hope he's in a better place now.
